TR7 Megajolt pictures

These photos show the main items for installing a MegaJoltLite Jnr system onto a Triumph TR7, either 8V or 16V as the brackets and trigger wheel are the same. Here is the end result on a dyno.

16V and EDIS plug lead hybrid. Try the Ford Escort 1.3 Endura for donor leads.

Trigger and pulley in situ - closer but without flash.

The ECU with vacuum pipe attached. Note the RS232 port.

The EDIS coil pack. This is too high off 'the ground' - half height is enough.

Some very dodgy wiring - lots of splices!

Coil pack bolted on using 'pop-up' light mounting nuts. Space is tight.

Coil pack and EDIS together.

Wiring from the trigger.

Timing sensor, end on view.

Final trigger position - longer mounting bolts needed for bracket.

Here is the initial map. Very simple and progressive.

This is the final map with idle control and a rev. limiting function.

TR7 8V distributor advance.

A Renault map. It has the idle control and high advance at max torque when cruising at 70mph.

This is the final map - possibly. It is based on the Renault map, but has a rev limit added.

Here is a new trigger bracket made from a simple angle iron.

Close up of the new bracket.
